ATTO was invited to participate in the Forum and contribute to a panel discussion organised by the Director General Customs, Mr Alan Mamo. Representing ATTO, Chairman Mr. Bugeja joined fellow panellists in an exchange centred on Malta’s competitiveness and the strategic importance of connectivity for an island economy.

During the discussion, Mr. Bugeja highlighted key challenges impacting Malta’scompetitiveness, with particular emphasis on the vital role of connectivity for an island-nation economy. He also underscored the implications for Maltese exporters arising from the introduction of ETS1 and the forthcoming implementation of ETS2, noting that these measures are expected to place additional pressures on cost structures and international market positioning.
ATTO welcomed the opportunity to engage in this dialogue and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen Malta’s position as a dynamic and well-connected island economy.
